Hi! I’m Cathy Griggs–a biologist, educator, beekeeper, and gardener. You may be wondering, why a blog… and why now? Well, Fetch, Dig, Thrive (FDT) came out of a very real need to be creative in a crazy world… and feeling like I may have something worth sharing.
My husband and I are the proud owners of White Dog Apiary in Newfield NY. We are a 2 person operation with Mike in the beeyard and me holding down the rest. We produce honey, candles, beeswax balms, and sachets. Everything that can is pulled from our very own hives.
We have had a vegetable garden for most of our married life. Now that we are both retired, we have expanded and grow enough food to supply our family, extended family, and donate to the local food pantry. Nothing compares to having your hands in the dirt. Retired people get pretty creative with their time and energy. I look forward to sharing some of our solutions in the garden.
The dogs. Our beloved dogs. They are the joy in our little end of the world. They join us in the garden, troop out to the apiary… and greet everyone who comes to the house. They are yellow labs and the sweetest pups you will ever meet.
